I'm just this guy. Sometimes I wear a lab coat to the quiz.
I'd add more here, but honestly, it's not important. I am on twitter: @sensei256
About the Team
Because the standard Trials Quiz only allows a maximum of three people per team, there's usually three of us that play. Myself (Lab Coat Guy), Game Guy, and Book Guy.
For the longest time, our team name was simply "Bees!?"
Now it's usually some random name, based on bees.
The team has been around since December 2011, which means we've been active long enough to have at least two rivals! I've never dealt with quizzing rivalry, but that's a fun twist.
Also, make sure to see Game Shows with Bees
About the Blog
We usually do one pass for the "obvious" or "easy" questions.
Then we start to make educated guesses.
We have been repeatedly told that the best strategy is to write out your "gut instinct" then stick with that unless you definitely know you have a better answer. We do this for a week or two, then forget about it.
Our actual strategy is:
- Make a bunch of guesses
- Say things like "I'm pretty sure that's right" to defend anything that sounds half-sensible.
- Lock into the most plausible sounding answer.
- ????
- Get a point based on over-confidence (does not always work)
And that's the story behind the name and URL of the blog.
